We then assigned colour combinations to each section, before numbering the templates, drawing the outline of each template onto the paper (so we wouldn't forget our composition) and removing them. Each student then used the templates to trace a shape onto their canvas sheet.

Our planning
We planned our work very carefully. We used a large piece of paper the same size as our canvas. We stuck templates to this and decided as a class how we could create movement in the art work, finally deciding on three sections each with their own direction of movement.
We then assigned colour combinations to each section, before numbering the templates, drawing the outline of each template onto the paper (so we wouldn't forget our composition) and removing them. Each student then used the templates to trace a shape onto their canvas sheet.

i am enjoying watching this project unfold!
ReplyDeleteit's very exciting to see the process here. the flowing shapes first placed on this "test" painting is a great idea. it's one of my favorite steps in my own planning. i do mine in a sketchbook. it's interesting that a group of artists are planning this together.
as for your question on PVA glue, i think that will work well.
great work all! i look forward to more photos :)
